BEERS ON TAP
*A Honey of a Saison – Belgian Strong Ale (Boulder Beer Co – Boulder, CO) 11.5%
This brand new offering from Boulder Beer Company has a swarm of flavor. The French Saison yeast produces big, estery, phenolic aromas and flavors, while the wildflower honey from Madhava Natural Sweeteners in Longmont, Co, lends a spicy, sweet aroma with an essence of dried fruits. Champagne yeast is also used to complete fermentation and create a dry finish. A strong malt bill imparts rich, golden honey color to the ale.
Blue Moon – Belgian-Style Wheat Ale (MillerCoors – Golden, CO) 5.4%
Crafted and brewed at Coors Field, the home of the Colorado Rockies, with an orange wedge on the side, this is an American favorite.
Bud Light – Light Lager (Anheuser-Busch InBev – St. Louis, MO) 4.2%
An American-style lager. The best selling beer in America since 2001.
Donnybrook (Nitro) – Irish Dry Stout (Victory – Downingtown, PA) 3.7%
The tastiest dark brew since the rollicking days of the infamous Donnybrook Fair, Donnybrook Stout offers unparalleled refreshment for an ale so deep in flavor and intrigue. Fresh, whole flower British and Slovenian hops provide the proper, earthy hint of “the auld sod” while deep roasted barley and low alcohol keep Donnybrook Stout clean, smooth and flavorful.
*Founders Imperial Stout – Imperial Stout (Founders – Grand Rapids, MI) 10.5% Rated 100 on Ratebeer.com
A fine companion to end a meal or relax in front of the hearth with. Brewed with ten varieties of malted barley this stout is extremely smooth, complex and rich in body. Let it warm up a bit to fully enjoy every aspect of this beer, it’s the ultimate winter warmer.
*471 IPA – Imperial IPA (Breckenridge – Denver, CO) 9.2% Rated 97 on Ratebeer.com
Hoppy? Brother, 471 redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by their Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat Malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by a burst of hoppiness.
Guinness Draught (Nitro) – Dry Stout (Ireland) 4.1%
This Irish dry stout is enjoyed the world over and brewed in over 150 countries. A dark stout with roasted flavors and a malty character.
*Palate Wrecker – Double IPA (Green Flash – San Diego, CA) 9.5% Rated 99 on Ratebeer.com
Pours a dark orange with a sticky snow white head that leaves a thick coat of lacing. Fresh, tangy spruce-like aroma with some juicy fruit gum accents and a hint of nectarine sweetness. Full bodied flavor with plenty of grapefruit bitter sweetness.
Schlafly Kolsch – Kolsch (Saint Louis Brewery – Maplewood, MO) 4.8% Pilsner Glass (4) Rated 92 on Ratebeer.com
This light-colored, refreshing ale, is the beer of Cologne. Well balanced and mild mannered, this beer is great for summer.
*Sculpin – American IPA (Ballast Point – San Diego, CA) 7% Rated 100 by Ratebeer.com
Sculpin IPA is bright with aromas of apricot, peach, mango and lemon. Its lighter body also brings out the crispness of the hops. The Sculpin fish has poisonous spikes on its fins that can give a strong sting. Ironically, the meat from a Sculpin is considered some of the most tasty. Something that has a sting but tastes great, sounds like a Ballast Point beer for sure.
Smithwick’s – Irish Ale (Ireland) 4.5%
Ireland’s number one ale. Its exceptional taste, distinctive color and purity of ingredients make it unique. Its rich, satisfying taste has earned it five gold medals in the famous Monde Selection Beer Tasting Competition.
*Secret Stache – Stout (Finch’s Beer Co. – Chicago, IL) 5.3% Rated 98 on Ratebeer.com
This is not your average stout. This beer is light in body with a smooth, creamy texture. Brewed with vanilla, it dominates the nose with a nice balance of chocolate and coffee flavors throughout.
Summer Shandy – Fruit Beer (Leinenkugal Brewing – Chippewa Falls, WI) 4.2% Pint (4)
Spring is here and Summer is around the corner, and that means Summer Shandy!! Infused with lemonade, this is the best selling Summer seasonal in the States. Instead of trying to say that 5 times fast, just order one. Try it with Guinness, we call it “Summer Night.” Get one before it’s gone!!
Summit Maibock – Heller Bock (Summit Brewing – St. Paul, MN) 7.1%
Early German monks created “bock” beer as a hearty beverage that would help sustain them during their Lenten fasts. The first bock beers were dark, but soon came “blonder” styles such as maibock. Maibocks have a rich, malty, full flavor.
*2X Stout – Double Sweet Stout (Southern Tier – Lakewood, NY) 7.5% Rated 95 on Ratebeer.com
As part of their 2X line of beers, this beer is every bit as delicious as it sounds. Milk Stout, also called ‘cream’ or ‘sweet’ stout, is a stout containing lactose, a sugar derived from milk. Because lactose is unfermentable by beer yeast, it adds sweetness and body to the finish.
